Background

Summary of Project

Our project aims to reduce the nuisance many small shop owners and large households face when it comes to wrapping gifts. Whether that be during the middle of the holiday season, birthdays, or any other celebration, wrapping gifts in a timely manner can be difficult. Our project, “The Holiday Helper,” seeks to minimize the time taken to wrap presents by automating the process. It is an automated gift-wrapping machine with the ability to wrap a standard-sized gift box in a quick, safe, and effective manner. Because our target demographic is for small business owners and/or large households, we additionally hope to create a design that is affordable for middle class families. This is what distinguishes our design from current gift wrapping solutions. Right now, there are a some different automated gift wrapping machines but none of the existing designs are affordable or targeted towards this demographic. As, many are for large-scale manufacturing purposes, thousands of dollars, and large, loud, and bulky.
